Back in 2013, I asked myself a question that flipped my world upside down:
âWhy do I find some people so easy⌠and others just plain difficult?â
It wasnât just a passing thought. That single question kicked off a journey that would transform my relationships, my business â and ultimately â myself.
Around the same time, I did a DISC assessment. What it revealed was like being handed a mirror I couldnât unsee:
My communication patterns
My cognitive biases
My default emotional responses
And then it hit me â like Thor slamming his hammer into the earth âĄď¸
The people I found âeasyâ?
They were just like me. We spoke the same language. We valued the same things. We had an unspoken understanding of how respect looks and feels.
But the âdifficultâ ones? They were my opposite.
Different values. Different emotional needs. A totally different playbook.
That insight became a turning point.

Itâs 100% predictable who you will have difficulties with, who will press your buttons, and who will challenge you.Â
Difficulties stem from differences in behavioural and psychological patterns.Â
Second P: Preventable.
Itâs 100% preventable to have difficulties with certain personalities.
It also means that you can obtain positive outcomes instead of negatives ones as long as you can successfully read and relate to other people.Â
Let's illustrate this with an example.
The General Manager of a sizeable business had been working together with the CEO for the past 20 years.
A new senior leader joined the team and within a matter of months, he was able to secure funding in the millions, backed by the CEO.Â
